Faux rattan gives a patio the woven look. This group holds 29 chairs, all listed for patio use, with faux rattan seats on 28 of them and frames in aluminum, metal and resin. Decide on arms first, since 13 have them. Then count the stackers: 16 are listed as stackable.
Twenty-eight of the 29 chairs have a faux rattan seat, and one has a fabric seat. Beneath the weave you get bamboo-look aluminum on 14 chairs, plain aluminum on nine, metal on four, and a single chair each in resin and wood-look aluminum. So the weave is nearly a given, and the real choice is the frame.
Footprints differ more than the pictures suggest. A woven patio chair at $58 lists 21 3/4 inches wide, 23 1/2 deep and 28 1/2 tall. An aluminum dining chair in the same group lists 22 wide, 24 1/2 deep and 33 1/4 tall. Nearly five inches of back height changes how the chair reads from across the patio.
Single chairs run from about $58 to $384, so sort by frame before you sort by price. Thirteen chairs have arms, and 16 stack. If you are short on storage, the stack count matters more than the arm count. If you are short on tables, it is the other way around, because an armchair takes more table edge than a side chair.
Only one chair in the group carries a listed seat height, 18 inches. For the rest, ask before you pair them with a table. Seats on dining chairs land between 17 and 19 inches high, which under a table 29 to 30 inches tall leaves 10 to 12 inches of knee room. Bar-height seating is a different shelf, in patio bar stools.
All 29 are listed for patio use, and 27 are listed for indoor use as well. A woven seat has more places for water to sit than a flat one, so tip each chair to shed water after a rain and let it dry. At the end of the season, rinse it, let it dry again, and cover it or stack and store it. The warranty on patio chairs runs six months, and it does not cover indoor furniture left out in the weather. Details are on the warranty page.
Want the bistro shape specifically? French bistro chairs narrows it down. For plain metal frames, try aluminum and steel patio chairs, and keep your tally in patio plans.
